Molar mass determination of Collagen Peptides
The scope of the present work was to develop a simple, cost-effective and robust high precision GPC/SEC method for QC, allowing to provide close to true molar masses for collagen peptides. The method should be applicable in any laboratory allowing for reliable inter laboratory comparison. Therefore, the use of molar mass sensitive detectors should be avoided.
The single steps in the study were identification of collagen peptides suitable as reference materials and determination of their characteristics, establishing a suitable calibration procedure and a round robin test of the final approach.
Greener GPC/SEC
The growing awareness of the need for more sustainable (greener) solutions has focused attention on environmentally- and health-friendly solvents and solutions.
Scope of this White Paper and the work behind is to discuss less hazardous solvent alternatives from renewable resources which can be successfully applied for size separation of macromolecules and describe options for users of GPC/SEC/GFC to establish solutions more in coherence with the 12 principles of green chemistry.
Is PSS WinGPC right for you?
Its unique suitability for the task has made PSS WinGPC the premium software choice for macromolecular R&D and QC since its first Windows release in 1992. However, the requirements for modern software solutions are much more than offering the right functions and features. Intelligent workflow support, compliance and security requirements, scalability and integration of existing lab infrastructure play a major role when it comes to the decision which software package should be implemented.
This White Paper encompasses several examples of WinGPC installations in different environments globally and outlines the most beneficial WinGPC features for these environments.
Resolution increase in GPC/SEC/GFC by decreasing particle size and increasing the number of columns
Modern GPC/SEC column packing materials are nowadays available in small particle sizes. This offers the chance to transfer existing applications to semi-micro columns and to keep the chemistry of the stationary phase. This white paper discusses practical strategies in GPC/SEC to increase the resolution.
With a strong focus on particle size and the number of columns applied, it shows examples for organic and aqueous GPC/SEC separations and gives practical advice for increasing resolution and decreasing eluent consumption and time.
